Scripture Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls. (1 Peter 1:8-9)
Observation These are probably some of the few verses that are most difficult to accept when we read the Bible. They call for our actions to love Jesus, believe in Him and to experience joy when we do not see Him. So often, we need to see and touch the tangibles before we believe or accept what they are. In fact, we believe that we receive our salvation by faith. When we invite Jesus into our lives, we trust that He enters into us without having to experience any outward sign or wonder. By the same act, we also receive the full imperishable inheritance in Christ (1 Peter 1:4). What an honour! Application Even when I don't see it, even when I don't feel it, I believe He is still working in my life. Looking at the pandemic, it seems as if God is not working or not there at all. We need to continue to believe that God is working in, through and around us with His words of exhortation that we are to walk by faith but not by sight.
Prayer Lord Jesus, help me to experience and encounter You more and more, even though I cannot see or feel You. Thank You that You did not forsake me.
