Love in Action
Scripture
Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. (Romans 12:15)
Observation
The entire passage of Romans 12:12-21 speaks of love in action by the Apostle Paul. The verses are about urging believers in Christ to act in ways contrary to our sinful nature, suggesting some key love actions to be practiced to our "enemies", and those we find difficult to love. Verse 15 in particular, may not seem like a direct love action meant for our "enemies", but it is. The rejoicing and mourning part are rightful for all believers in God's family. As part of Christian community living, these actions are so vital in supporting one another, enemies or not.
Application
As we live in a fallen world, we can see many who are afflicted with hurts, injuries, difficulties and hardships. Do we see them as opportunities for God to use us for His good and perfect purpose, to minister to even those we dislike or people who dislike us? Do we put aside our differences to rejoice and mourn together, to provide tangible support and be a more caring community within Agape MC?
Prayer
Dear Lord, help me to be sensitive to those who are in need around me. Show me ways that I could support them.
