Meeting Together

Not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching. (Hebrews 10:25)

Observation

​

Many may choose to attend online service rather than come to church, especially during this period of the pandemic. For some, it may be for safety reasons. For others, they are able to worship God just as well by staying at home and watching the service. There is a certain degree of validity to all that as God is not found only in church. However, there is a reason the Scriptures tell us not to give up meeting together. Somehow, when we come together and focus upon the greatness of God, there is a ministry to our own hearts that nothing else will convey.

Application

It is when a service starts, we begin to see the liturgies and the gathering in the right perspective. God and His world, what we are doing with our lives, who we are, how we are intended to function - all these begin to take on increased importance in our eyes when we come to church. There is also the aspect of meeting one another physically to fellowship, encourage each other and build spiritual community.

Prayer

 

Lord, help me to welcome and treasure the worship of our fellow believers each Sunday. Help me to say a word of encouragement to them as we gather your community of saints.
